Monthly inflation lowest in nine years

The Serbian Ministry of Finance stated that according to its estimates, the September inflation will be 0.2% which is the lowest monthly inflation rate in the past nine years

The statement adds that restrictive measures of the National Bank of Serbia’s monetary policy and the finance ministry’s tight budget policy have caused this year’s total inflation rate to decrease to 6.1% in the first nine months.

Having in mind this positive trend, the Ministry of Finance expects the total 2006 inflation rate to be below the projected values, adds the statement.
