63,850 GPRS terminals for remote readouts of fiscal cash registers connected
Head of the Serbian Tax Administration Vladimir Ilic said today that 63,850 GPRS terminal devices have been connected to the Tax Administration server so far, adding that terminal devices for remote readouts of fiscal registers should be connected to more than 150,000 fiscal registers.
Speaking at a press conference, Ilic recalled that the legal deadline for the procurement of the terminals for the first group of taxpayers, consisting of big and medium-sized enterprises and all others owning cash registers in more than three places was March 31, while the deadline for the second group, encompassing all other taxpayers, was June 30.
The obligation of retailers to install the terminals excludes fiscal cash registers used to record transactions on market stalls, as well as those used to record transactions in business activities that include frequent changes of places for selling goods or rendering of services.
Ilic announced introduction of tighter control for taxpayers, appealing to all who have the legal obligation to install GPRS terminals to do so.
According to Ilic, by the end of last week, the number of taxpayers who have already connected their terminals to the Tax Administration server was 51,076.
Prescribed fines for not installing terminals vary from 100,000 to 1 million dinars for corporate persons, 5,000 to 50,000 dinars for the individual responsible, and 50,000 to 500,000 for entrepreneurs. The law also prescribes a possibility of imposing a ban on doing business activity for up to 60 days.
Ilic said that, from January 1 to October 10 this year, a sum total of 164.2 billion dinars has been collected on the basis of VAT.
