€165 million for economic development through National Investment Plan

Serbian Minister of Economy Predrag Bubalo and the Serbian Minister of Finance Mladjan Dinkic presented projects worth €165 million which aim to encourage entrepreneurship, employment and economic development and will be realised within the framework of the National Investment Plan.

Bubalo told the press that funds will be spent on encouraging the development of industrial parks, attracting investments, encouraging exports, but are also meant for investments in under developed areas according to the idea of equal regional development.

Dinkic reiterated that projects in the area of encouraging entrepreneurship, employment and economic development are the most important ones in the framework of the National Investment Plan.

He said that the chief aim of the Serbian government is to establish equal economic development in Serbia and only a sixth of the total amount of funds from the National Investment Plan is meant for Belgrade.

The basic idea is that more money goes to small areas and the state makes more efforts in these regions, because only through the development of municipalities can conditions be created for the arrival of further foreign investments, said Dinkic.
